Rentals or
agriturismo are a pleasant, generally less-expensive way of staying
in Tuscany and learning more about the local lifestyle.
Rentals are
usually weekly, Saturday to Saturday, and are self-catered -
i.e. you do your own cooking & cleaning during the week
unless other arrangements are made in advance. Connected or
free-standing apartment units as well as houses are available to
satisfy every taste and budget - prices ranging from as low as
$US500/wk in low season and up to several thousand $US/wk in high season.
When the rental units are on or near working vineyards or farming estates, products of the estate (typically wine and/or olive oil) are typically available for purchase.
